Live Tissue Connect, Inc. (LTC) presented technology and
product performance clinical papers at the Central European
Congress of Surgery in Prague, Czech, April 23rd to 26th,
2008.
Dr. Robert Tucker M.D. PhD, of the University of Iowa, presented
three clinical papers peer reviewed at the surgical Congress.
Dr. Tucker described his results with Live Tissue Connect's
technology and product performance at the Central European
Congress of Surgery (CECS). Additionally, LTC had a booth
at the exhibition which allowed the LTC team the opportunity
to discuss the technology and product performance with leading
physicians and European distributors.
The focus of this Congress was on the developing fields of
surgery, evidence-based medicine and new technologies. Many
international experts attended to share their knowledge and
experience in surgery, oncology and radiology at this Congress.
Donald S. Robbins, President and CEO of CSMG Technologies,
said, "This is an important milestone for LTC to have
Dr. Tucker present his papers at CECS. This was our first
opportunity to publicly unveil the RF sealing results that
are obtainable with LTC's products, and to compare such to
leading RF sealing medical device companies that already have
a market presence. Surgeons and distributors attending the
Congress showed considerable interest in LTC's technology."
CSMG Technologies owns the technology and exclusive world
rights to the live tissue bonding device through Live Tissue
Connect, Inc., a subsidiary corporation formed for the development
and exploitation of the platform technology. European CE Mark
has been received on the electrosurgical generator and United
States FDA 510(K) clearance documentation has been filed for
the duct and vessel sealing product. The duct and vessel sealing
electrosurgical generator and associated hand instruments
are currently being produced in production quantities.
Surgeons at 27 Ukrainian hospitals and clinics are using
the tissue welding/bonding technology in clinical trials.
They have completed more than 10,000 human surgeries including
more than 80 types of open and laparoscopic surgical procedures,
establishing that the technology is universal in its ability
to repair soft biological tissue.
U.S., Australian, Canadian, Ukraine and European Union patents
have been issued, and additional U.S. and foreign patents
are pending. LTC currently owns a total of 31 patents issued
or pending.
The technology was invented and developed at the internationally
renowned E.O. Paton Institute of Electric Welding, National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine, headed by Professor
B.E. Paton.
